Never miss a tour or a deadline
Tours and open houses are scattered across school websites and MySchools, and the admissions deadlines are easy to lose. The NYC Schools iPhone app puts the events of every school you save, plus the DOE’s admissions dates for your child’s grades, on one calendar, and reminds you before each one.
Example: one saved school
I.S. 289’s upcoming events as listed on MySchools, each with a reminder a week before and the evening before.

How it works
Save the schools you’re considering
Tap the bookmark on any school. Its tours and open houses, as the school posted them on MySchools, show up on your calendar.
Choose your child’s grades
In Account, pick the grades you’re applying for (3-K, Pre-K, kindergarten, middle or high school). The calendar adds the DOE’s dates for just those grades: applications open, due, offers, and test dates like the SHSAT.
Get reminded, on your phone
Reminders arrive a week before an event (a good time to check whether it needs registration) and the evening before. They are scheduled on your device, so they work with the app closed.
A date moves? The reminder moves
When a school changes or cancels an event, or the DOE moves a deadline, your reminders are rebuilt so you are never nudged for something stale.
Add it to your own calendar
Any event can be added to Apple Calendar or Google Calendar in one tap. The app never reads your calendar; it only hands the event to your calendar app.
Free to download. The events calendar and reminders are part of Premium. Also see how the app builds your ranked application list.
